Puttur, Nov 13: In a matter that has come to light, a woman, native of the taluk, who had gone to Kuwait for employment and got sick, is under house arrest, locked in a room and not provided food.
The woman has conveyed the harassment meted out to her to Annappa Karekkadu, president of Dalit Seva Samiti of the taluk through a voice message on mobile phone.
The woman is a widow of Tamil Nadu origin, who lives on the outskirts of the town. She has two children. She had gone to Kuwait as a domestic help. Of late, she fell sick. But the owner of the house she works is saying that she should not have come to Kuwait if her health was not good.
Annappa Karekkadu has conveyed the information to the SP and Puttur women police station. In addition, the matter was brought to the notice of local MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor also.
