Bangkok, Nov 15: With strength in words, pureness in thoughts, zeal in hearts and to salute the spirit of Karnataka and Kannada, Thai Kannada Balaga (TKB), an association of Kannadigas living in Thailand, celebrated Deepavali and Kannada Rajyotsava at Lotus Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 33 on November 6. The event hall was bedazzled by TKB members who followed the theme 'bling it on'.
The day started with invocation by Suchitra Rajeev lighting the lamp by the chief guest Ajay Sarapure (Standup Comedian), TKB president Subramanya Nilekri, secretary Shivaprasad Poojary, Swarna Kamath, Veena Bhat and Ravindra Bhat followed by singing the Thai and Indian National Anthem.
TKB president Subramanya gave the welcome note and kickstarted the events for the day. The young and dashing emcee duo 'Naveen and Arjun' not only hosted the show but also entertained the guests with their humor and spot quizzes. It was an absolute delight to watch their professionalism and expertise, wonderful selection of words, friendly approach, and great sense of humor. Which made everyone feel welcomed, relaxed, and connected with the audience.






































The entertainer, Ajay Sarapure enthralled the audience with his standup comedy and stressed about the need of humor in our lives. He emphasized the significance of Karnataka community in Thailand and the Kannada language. He is famous for his jokes that often revolve around racial, ethnic, class and cultural stereotypes. Everyone in the audience burst into laughter and could relate to his sense of humor. Not just stand-up comedy, Ajay entertained the audience with musical rendezvous along with TKB members Ravi Mysore and Shobha Malliah. He also conducted short games which were fulfilled not just for participants but for viewers too. All in all, one can say Ajay Sarapure is an all-round entertainer.
Not just the standup comedy, but the day was filled with lots of cultural performances with a special mention to Tanush and Dhanush Vaddi from Telugu association, Thai dancers Khun Sarinya who performed Kuchipudi. Khun Sujintara Lakkla and Khun Siriwan Wangvilai performed for Indian classic music who gave enthralling performances leaving the audience spell bound.
Apart from these our inhouse little super stars Ciaana, Saanvi, Ananya, Atharva, Purav, Samanvi and Reva danced for Kannada, and Hindi songs and their cuteness and talent won everyone heart. Nutans’s mash up and Prisha’s violin added musical touch to the event. Kethki and Nayana rocked the stage with their awesome energy and stunning performances. New members of TKB introduced themselves during ‘Hosa Mukhagalu’ event.
TKB committee members Ranjeetha and Nayana had organized the Fashion Show. 20+ beautiful ladies dazzled the red carpets in sarees draped in different ways. Every style was just as beautiful and unique. The Fashion show was a great success with lots of fun. It was wonderful to see all TKB models on the runway; they looked so happy! And all of them got such wonderful responses from the crowd that many from the crowd joined the impromptu fashion show.
TKB committee also hosted ‘Lucky Draws’ with a Diamond Ring, Ray-ban polarized sunglasses for which the audience were waiting all day hoping and praying to win. The lucky couple Shobha and Muttu won the diamond ring whereas Rajath and Ranjeetha Rao won the sunglasses. Apart from these more than 10 people won dine-in vouchers in the lucky draw.

The beautiful moments of the entire show were captured by our volunteer photographer John Wilson Pinto( pintocreations). The event turned out to be a grand success, full of entertainment and a variety of tasty Indian food followed by high tea and delicious snacks in the evening.
TKB committee member, Shamanth rendered the vote of thanks and the day concluded with a group photo of all happy faces.
