Mangaluru, Nov 15: “The indefinite protest against Surathkal toll gate has yielded a positive result. But, the toll was looting the public for six years. The congratulations from MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on Twitter is just a mockery,” said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) media spokesperson Amala Ramachandra.
He was speaking at the Congress Bhavan on Tuesday November 15. He said, “MP Nalin congratulated stating that the technical process is on for the removal of Surathkal toll gate. Instead of congratulating, he should apologise to the public for the delay in the removal of the toll gate and for looting people for six years through the toll gate.”
“During the recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bengaluru, the roads have been asphalted and potholes have been filled. He PM should come to know about people's problems. If the roads are asphalted and potholes are filled during the PM's visit, how will he come to know about the problems? Several people have lost their lives due to pothole-ridden roads in Bengaluru. Potholes on such are never filled. But, what is the use of filling the potholes during the arrival of Narendra Modi?” he questioned.
