Mangalore, May 16: In his second stint in Mangalore after serving as the commissioner of MUDA in 1994, KAS officer N S Channappa Gowda assumed office as the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district on Monday May 16. He is replacing Subodh Yadav who has been transferred as the commissioner of state textile department, Bangalore.

AC Prabhakar Sharma welcomed the new DC with a bouquet.

Channappa Gowda was posted as deputy commissioner of DK district on Friday May 13. Gowda has also earlier served as the DC of Mysore, Ramnagar, Uttara Kannada and Chikmagalur districts.

Speaking to mediaperons, Gowda said that he would put sincere efforts to continue development works initiated by his predecessors. He promised a transparent administration in the district. He said red-tapism in government offices is a curse to the public, thus actions will be initiated to speed up the works.

Noting that the city has undergone a rapid change in the last few years, he said strict rules and policies will continue to be in place and that there will be no bowing to pressures from any corner.

Wel Come to Mr.Channappa Gowda as new DC.

I do agree with Mr. J Rao, there is no Traffic system or Traffic rules followers in Mangalore & Udupi Dist. since last few years till now. It is really surprising to see that people follow their own rules & system. No one bothers to follow the actual Traffic rules. Most of the drivers are not aware of Traffic rules. So many road accidents but no one takes interest to control the traffic system. If this continues I am sure people will die like street dogs due to road accidents. The local Politicians, Traffic Department & even DC's are not taking any strict action. !!!!!

    DC Sahebrige Swagatha.
Like Please dont dance to the tunes of corrupt BJP politicians and BJP chelas like what Peter and Ismail said. But if you dance like our Governor then its ok for them. Your conscience will be clean if you bow down to Vachanabrasta Congressmen and their votebank. You will be secular then. Jai ho. Welcome once again Gowdre.
