P B Harish Rai Elected President of DK Journalists' Union

Mangalore, May 16: P B Harish Rai, senior reporter of Vijaya Karnataka, Kannada daily, was elected the president of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Union on Sunday May 16 at Press Club here.

He was contesting against B N Pushparaj, Mangalore bureau chief of Vartha Bharathi.

Dayanand Kukkaje of daijiworld.com, Sukesh Shetty, Ravindra Shetty, Sathyavati, Sudhakar Ermal and Diwakar constitute the executive committee.

The general secretary's post was bagged by Srinivas Nayak Indaje of Udaya TV while Ramakrishna R, Anil Jogi and Jagannath Shetty were elected vice-presidents.

Wilfred D'Souza and Ibrahim Adkathala will be the secretaries while Yogish Holla the treasurer.

The election was conducted by election officer Malar Jayaram Rai, in the presence of outgoing president of the union Harsha and general secretary Guruvappa Balepuni.
