New Twist : D K Shivakumar Explodes 'Political' Bomb on BJP

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, May 19 : In a remarkable development to the ongoing political crisis in Karnataka state, former working state Congress president D K Shivakumar has exploded a 'political' bomb claiming that some of the top BJP leaders have telephoned him and asked him to step up the protest against state chief minister to ensure that Yeddyurappa resigns from his chair.

This has come as a surprise to everyone, as, every since the Supreme Court verdict emerged threatening to dismantle the state government, BJP has been insisting that it is united in the state. But now, D K Shivakumar is pointing fingers  at senior BJP leaders from New Delhi who are supposedly putting pressure on Congress to up the ante against their own party. It is apparent that there are still differences among some of the top leaders and the state CM Yeddyurappa.

It may be recalled that MP Ananth Kumar was seen in the anti-Yeddyurappa group during the last dissident outburst in the state. Though Ananth Kumar was not openly opposed to the CM, it is a known fact that there is heavy difference between the two leaders.

However, D K Shivakumar has declined to name the BJP leaders behind the new twist in the story.

This development comes as another weapon for the state opposition which will be all too willing to take advantage of the situation.

The allegations have lent an interesting new angle to the present crisis which was beginning to evaporate, but now it will be interesting to wait and watch the state political development in next couple of days.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the central cabinet ministers met in New Delhi, but did not discuss any political issue regarding governor Bhardwaj's report. Though Yeddyurappa has given the ultimatum to governor, the central cabinet seems to have taken Yeddyurappa's threat lightly.

Perhaps DKS statement is true but it doesnt carry weight at this point,i'm not a fan of yeddy but being a senior leader of the cong party ithink ur saying should be with evidence atleast u should have the courage to name these top leaders or else DKS people will take u lightly.

THIS IS ALL A WELL ORCHESTRATED STRATEGY OF POLITICAL LEADERS. THEY SHIFT AND BLAME, THEY CALL FOR PULLING THE GOVERNMENT DOWN, BUT IN DOING ALL THESE ACTS, THEY GET THEIR DAILY BREAD IN ABUNDANCE. ORDINARY MAN IS FOOLED AND THE DRAMA CONTINUES. IT IS BETTER TO KEEP THESE POLITICIANS PLAY THEIR GAME AS BEST AS THEY CAN AND GO ON. DODDANNA.

Amongst all the comments, Dave, Mangalore comments are more appropriate one.
"BJP wants Yeddi to GO-but incapable to remove him.
Congress(at centre) wants him to stay so that they can defend their corruption by showing finger at Yeddi & deflect any allegations in future as well
Now as I said-Anything is Possible in Politics." - This seems to be quite right.

DKS' expose of BJP walas (leaders-state and centre)'Nikkamathana' is evident from day one.I reiterated several times any BJP leader or Low command can do nothing to Yeddy because either he buys them or dumps them! There is no govt in Karanataka sans Yeddy is the reality. If DKS's statements is saids to be correct then those called on phone are 'cowards'not fit to be remain in any political party.

Even if this is true, it no twist. Yestreday Basangouda Patil Yatnal from JDS accused Veerappa Moily & Chidambaram of taking kickbacs from Yeddi(chances are high after the help taken by Reddy's in winning Chikkbellapur) to manage BJP's affairs in center and reject Giverners report. Today DKShi is telling some leaders of BJP are with him. HDK has his own set of friends in BJP.Reddy's have their own patlan. At the end of the day Yeddi is left only with Renukacharya (who may jump any time anywere), and some the leaders from coastal who were right from the start loyal to him of BJP. So in the intrest of BJP highcommand should make Yeddi to stepdown if they want this Govt to run smoothly atleast for another 1 year.

Mr.D.K.Shiva Kumar himself was thinking of joining BJP some time back. During the land scam he was very silent and not in the picture at all because as per present calculation he is the third largest land scamer in Bangalore. More over, Anath Kumar and Shiva Kumar are not in good terms because of earlier failed money transaction. This is one more gimmicks of congress party and Janardhan Poojary.

Q1)DKS, WHY DON'T YOU ASK YOUR LEADERS TO TAKE DECISION ON GOVERNOR'S REPORT?(0.1 mark)

Ans: To avoid BJP supporters like you, lay on the roads. Because its raining these days and the road is full of pothholes in karnataka
ruled by BJP and you might catch cold-)
The congress need not learn to take decisions from helpless cry babies like Yeddy.

The Karnataka voters are so unfortunate that, they have to experience these pathetic days of the government. The oct 2010 there was simple majority and all of a sudden there was disqualification of MLA's to save the government. This incident is simply a voilation of people's basic right. The MLA fight to the core to win a election and upon winning he has becomes slave of a leading party. The MLA's have lost right to choose a CM and forced to accept Eddy as CM or rejection will disqualify them.

Dear fellow commentators I had called all of u to wait & watch-It is proving right.
BJP wants Yeddi to GO-but incapable to remove him.
Congress(at centre) wants him to stay so that they can defend their corruption by showing finger at Yeddi & deflect any allegations in future as well.
Now as I said-Anything is Possible in Politics. BJP gains more if he is removed by Congress than initiating any disciplinery actions which will harm their prospectus in Karnataka by themselves.
Losers are 6 crore people of Karnataka caught between these games played by all.
