Mangaluru, Dec 5: Fr Allwyn Serrao and Stany Bela bagged the top honours in the drama writing competition organised by Mandd Sobhann.
The names of the winners were announced during the monthly repertoire presented by Mandd Sobhann on December 4. In order to promote Konkani theater, Mandd Sobhann, a premier organization of Konkani striving to promote Konkani language and its distinct culture worldwide, organized the ‘New Konkani Drama Writing Competition’.

'Emmavs' drama written by Fr Allwyn Serrao bagged the first prize worth Rs 10,000 cash prize and memento. The second place was bagged by 'Carmel Second Street' drama written by Stany Bela. He was awarded Rs 5,000 and memento. There were six dramas in the competition. Denis Monteiro, Joel Pereira and Fr Jocy Siddakatte were felicitated. All writers were given Rs 2,000 as consolation prizes.
Fr Alwyn Serrao is actively engaged in Konkani theatre from many years. Being a drama writer, Fr Alwyn Serrao known for philosophical content in his scripts.
Stany Bela is a known as show director in Kannada, Tulu, and Konkani. He gained much popularity among the Konkani community by writing and directing Konkani serials.
