Mangaluru, Dec 6: An attempt was made to kidnap a child who was standing outside his house. The act was captured on CCTV at Chokkabettu in Surathkal here.

The kidnap attempt reportedly failed. At 9 pm on Monday December 5, Chokkabettu area had a power cut. A child was standing near Chokkabettu masjid. A miscreant wearing a blue coloured t-shirt tried pulling the hand of the child saying that his brother is in the car. The child managed to escape from the hands of the miscreant.

The act was captured on the CCTV of the masjid nearby. 

Surathkal police arrived to the spot and began probing into the incident.

    First question where were parents of the girl at that time alone in darkness girl was standing?Not bothered about children ?and afterwards searching and blaming others afterwards.First take care of your children as Parents .Nowadays no child is secure alone outside.

    This is reported but falling of a cash filled bag in front of a bar right at a junction could not be caught from any camera in the vicinity. ?? Are the public expected to believe both news ?

    Please stop small children boys and girls sending to masjid/temples/church/tution after 5pm. Now a days, days are short and nights are long....over that powercut. If sending, elders should take a responsibility to accompany them to and fro. Or any of the elders should take responsibility of the children to drop and pick IN TURNS...or parents or masjid leaders should make a group of particular area and make them to go together.....appoint a watchman in every religious house .masjid/church/temple to avoid such incidents. No use of crying afterwards....
