Summer camps are a perfect way to learn new skills or hone one's talents, as demonstrated by the participants of the summer camp held at Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education, Bajjodi.

The 15-day camp drew to a befitting end with a rich display of talents enriching the valedictory ceremony held at Paul & Lilly D’Souza Kinnigoli Memorial Kala Mantap on Saturday May 21.

Fr Dr Ronald Pinto, director, Samanwaya, Urwa, Mangalore was the chief guest. Fr Valerian Mendonca, director, Sandesha presided.
 
The summer camp had begun on May 2. The children were given training in Bharatanatyam, western dance, Indian musical instruments – harmonium, ‘tabla’, violin, western musical instruments – keyboard, drums, and guitar; Carnatic vocal, drawing and painting, art and crafts, spoken English, public speaking and calligraphy.

That the summer camp succeeded in its mission was quite evident from the performances of the children who participated in the camp. Whether it was with the keyboard, drums or guitar, or with art, speech, song or dance, the participants proved their mettle with great poise and skill.
 
As many as 192 students were present. The camp attracted participants from various parts of the state including Belgaum, Madikeri, Chikamagalur apart from Dakshina Kannada.
