Bantwal: Absconding driver after accident arrested, car confiscated

Bantwal, Dec 12: A car which collided with an auto rickshaw at Talapady in B C Road and escaped from the spot was traced by Bantwal traffic police. Car driver Mohammed Sheikh Faizal was taken into custody and the Maruti Swift car was confiscated.

Accused Faizal had hit his car into an auto rickshaw on the morning of December 5 at Talapady of B C Road and escaped. Rickshaw driver Purushottam and passenger Hritik sustained injuries.

Earlier, it was said that the auto rickshaw overturned by itself. However, later it came to be known that the car had hit the vehicle in its rear end.

The police put in lots of efforts and watched many local CCTV cameras and traced the registration number of the car. Finally, they confiscated the vehicle as well as the accused.

Raju of Bantwal traffic police station was the investigating officer while Nagesh K C was the assistant investigating officer.
