Mangaluru, Dec 12: A man who came to pluck coconuts sexually harassed a minor girl, a student of seventh standard by taking advantage that she was alone at home.

The incident happened at Konaje police station limits today. Manjanady resident Bashir (28) is the accused who is in Konaje police custody.

The man had come asking if there were coconuts to be plucked this afternoon when the girl was alone at home. Looking at the girl he admired her height, pulled her out and held her hand tightly. As the girl screamed, the locals came rushing, caught the accused and handed him over to Konaje police station.

While people at home hesitated to lodge a police complaint thinking that their reputation would be at stake, activists of a Hindu organisation persuaded them and filed a complaint with Konaje police station.

Police are planning to register a case under the Pocso Act.

I am speechless. Nobody condemns or objects, but ironically justify the act. I have seen this in each and every such incident where girls esp minors are abused. The blame is always on the innocent girl. Like 'Daal mein kuch kaala' etc. 'What was she doing alone' etc. What if the little girl was from our household? Thats one reason nobody wants to be affiliated to the party to which such elements support. Joining hands to fight a common enemy will surely make us repent big big time.

With due respect to the allegations, I would like to post my counterviews: Nowadays, the laws are totally skewed in favor of females and in any situation the complaint of the female is taken at face value and the man becomes the victim and if POCSO is applied, irrespective of the truth behind the case, victims life is finished! I personally don't know for sure if the draconian act is applicable in this incident!! These sort of incidents give a golden opportunity for many vultures in the system to extort money to do the needful!

Though there is no meaning for 'love jihad' now i believe there is something going on behind curtains. Trapping minor or below 23 years old girls and these girls become madly in love, then these girls take a further step to convert and marry them. Hell begins. Dear Imran....we agree what you said. Do you agree with my point that, has any hindu/Christian man, raped or molested or harrassed and made use of the situation where single muslim girl or lady they found around either at their work place or in neighborhood????? Imran ji, people do condemn the crimes irrespective of castes/creed/religion without any partiality. When others should not see/touch the girls of your community, youths should not rape the girls of other community as well. When you protect the girls (i appreciate it) of your community, other community boys too should protect the girls of their community. I asked you did you see any incident where hindu /Christian boys misbehaved/raped the muslim girls ? That means moral policing is there in islam as well as in hinduism.
