Mangalore, May 22:
Chief minister Yeddyurappa coming down heavily on governor H R Bhardwaj for his ‘anti-Constitutional’ approach said that the governor who was supposed to be the bridge between the centre and the state, has joined hands with Congress and JD(S) to try and destabilize the government in the state.

Addressing a huge gathering of BJP activists and followers at a people’s movement organized in Nehru Maidan here on Sunday May 22, the CM demanded governor's resignation or recall, saying that such a person was not fit for the post of governor. His party would continue its agitation till appropriate steps were taken against the governor, he said.

Yeddyurappa said that investigation against illegal mining in the state was initiated only after he came to power. He noted that former CM Dharam Singh was the kingpin, during whose office, a system was implemented under which permission was given to transport illegal iron ore stored at revenue land. The Lokayukta of that period had inspected the case and recommended to refund the loss of Rs 23.22 crore incurred by the state government during Dharam Singh's tenure.

But Ramesh Thakur, who was the governor during then had recommended the withdrawal of allegations against Dharam Singh. Lokayukta’s report has thus been kept aside by Thakur in order to safeguard former chief minister Dharam Singh, the CM alleged.

Lashing out at Kumaraswamy, he said that during his 20-month administration as CM of the state, Kumaraswamy had given the green signal for 47 iron ore lease proposals.

He said that the new mining policy has curbed illegal mining in the state. Steps such as increase in royalty amount to 1,174.58 crore in the year 2010-11 instead of Rs 475.52 crore that existed in 2007-2008, cancellation of bulk permits, implementation of e-permits, strict inspections, computerised checks in check posts have increased the royalty (income) to the state government even after iron ore export was banned.

He lambasted Veerappa Moily and said he was unfit to be the law minister as he was supporting the attitude of Congress leaders who have been playing with the Constitution.

He said the party decides who should be the CM, not Congress or JD(S). He asserted that under his leadership BJP emerged as a majority party in assembly elections and formed the government.

He expressed hope that the central government would not recommend President's rule in state at any cost. Karnataka is the number 1 state as far as law and order was concerned, in development it stands second after Gujarat, he said, and added that if political mess had not been created by the opposition, the state would have been number 1 by now.

He said only BJP government has granted agricultural loans at 1 percent interest, and asserted that he stands by his decisions to improve the lives of fishermen and beedi workers. Next year the state government will be capable of presenting Rs 1 lac crore budget, he said.

The main reason for Anna Hazare’s revolution was corruption in cases like CWG, 2G spectrum, Adarsh House scam by the centre, he pointed out.

He gave a two-day deadline to the central government to permit the state government to summon the assembly session and to reject the governor’s report demanding President's rule in state. Failure of the same may result in severe and different forms of protest across the state, he warned.

He sarcastically commented on Bhardwaj's behaviour and said that the governor says, "I work 18 hours a day which has led to good development in the state," but if so, on what ground is he recommending President’s rule, he asked.

MP Nalin Kumar, Krishna J Palemar, Padmanabh Kottari, Ganesh Karnik, B Nagaraj Shetty, Kumble Sunder Rao, Lalaji R Mendon, mayor Praveen among others were on the dais.

This ruling party know that, if they don’t stand in power, they will end in jail for Corruption, Communal Attack, they also know that, educated people will not vote them for next election and defeat is guaranteed, this an opportunity for them to fill their pockets before time runs out.
So, let them to jump high and high level until people realize their mistake to prepare themselves for next election.

PATIENCE is more powerful than frequent protest

Wake up ms Nalini. Stop dreaming. Yeddi government will not go anywhere. Which common man is suffereing? The congress leaders in Karnataka are good for nothing. Haven't you realize that? Thats why the center has not dismissed the Yeddi government inspite of Governer's recommendation. Untill congress gets roid of these useless leaders, BJP will rule. Congress should be faithful to itself and should clean up the sincere but useless leaders. Otherwise there is no chance for congress.

It is very strange that still there are ProBharadwaj comments .The Congress Party itself is telling the Governor that his Report is not acceptable as it doesnt has a Majority in Rajyasabha .and Most Importantly Governor himself has praised and Openly Spoken in a Function held in Bangalore that Yedyurappa has majority and there is Development in Karnataka by him .When he himself has said so where is the Doubt about the CM ? CM is Definitely Popular .Now the Problem is for the Governor whether he will be called back if o when and how this has to be seen

There's no governament in Karnataka right now.. It doesn't matter to common man whether Yediyurappa's Govt. Falls or survives because they are not doing anything except politics to save their ministry.. And i pity people of karnataka that they still voted BJP in the recent elections.. People of karnataka deserve such a useless governament. and the opposition is also responsible for the mess they can do something constructive rather than trying to make yedyurappa government fall, if they do the governament will fall by its own weight

Ms. Nalini you are right. This shameless chief minister can go to any extent to save his chair. He is just not bothered about governance or service to people but wasting money on such public metings which in no away help the people of Karnataka.

Let Union cabinet take decision whenever it wants. Did they have stopped Yedyurappa in governng the state? I am not able to understand why BJP is not replacing him with honest person like Mr. Suresh Kumar.

My advise to Congressmen not to waste their energy on such protests but instead go door to door and enlighten the people the misdeeds of this government.

Eddi has given 2 days time to the Centre and also challenged that there will be more protest. But I feel the centre has played a safe card now.If there is more protest means there will be a law and order breakdown,so it will be easy for the centre to impose president rule.Wish you all the best Eddi, you are the last wicket now, play carefully.Dont compare yourself to Modi,he is safe and be CM as long as Patels send crores of money from USA and UK which has made Gujrath a deveoping state.

VIDHANA SOUDHA IS EMPTY. ALL OFFICES ARE EMPTY. NO WORK IS GOING ON SINCE 3 WEEKS. CM, HOME MINISTER AND REST ALL OTHER MINISTERS ARE IN AGITATION THROUGH OUT KARNATAKA. SO SHAMEFUL. COMMON MAN IS SUFFERING FROM ALL THIS TAMASHAS. CM WHO IS SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF HIS STATE HIMSELF IS AGIATATING AND TELLING OTHERS ALSO TO AGIATATE AGAINST THE GOVERNOR. WHAT A JOKE. ANY CM WILL INSTRUCT HIS MINISTER TO GO ON AGITATING TO REMOVE THE GOVERNOR. GOVERNOR IS NOT DISTABLISING THE STATE GOVERNMENT. TODAY WHATEVER IS HAPPENING IN KARNATAKA THE CM IS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE. GOVERNOR IS DOING HIS JOB FAITHFULLY AND HONESTLY. WHY YEDDY IS BLAMING THE GOVERNOR FOR THE SINS HE HAS DONE. SHAMEFUL CM. SO GREEDY HE IS FOR POWER. YEDDY KNOWS ONCE HIS GOVERNMENT FALLS HE WILL ALSO BE BEHIND THE BARS FOR THE LOOTMAR HE DID OF LANDS GIVING THEM TO HIS SONS AND FAMILY MEMBERS. YEDDY WILL ALSO GO TO JAIL VERY SOON AS RAJA AND OTHERS HAVE GONE. WITH YEDDY REDDY BROTHER'S ALSO WILL GO. YEDDY YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED. ITS ONLY MATTER OF TIME YOU WILL BE BEHIND THE BARS. THAT TIME WE WILL SEE WHICH GOD WILL SAVE YOU. JUST WAIT FOR SOME MORE DAYS.
