Mangaluru, Dec 15: A case is registered in CEN police station of cheating a woman to the tune of Rs 1.25 crore by her daughter and her friend by creating fake documents.

Rita Peris is the complainant. The accused are her daughter Nikita Peris and Godwin Fernandes.

In the complaint it is stated that Rita and her son Amit Peris are living abroad. Nikita, daughter of Rita cheated her mother to the tune of Rs 1.25 crore in association with Godwin, resident of Mudarangadi.

It is alleged that a duplicate GPA (General Power of Attorney) was created through a lawyer in Udupi. The signatures of Rita and her son Amit were forged and the document was produced to the bank manager and accused Nikita and Godwin took Rs 25 lac home loan. Later they produced the same GPA to a bank at Vamanjoor and opened the locker of Rita and took away gold worth Rs one crore. In addition, the duo have also alleged to have withdrawn cash from the account of Rita.

    An ' Eye Opener ' to all !! The times we live in are scary. Morals and ethics have all gone awry. Blood relations, family, parents don't matter. Money Money Money is all that matters. However later, one has to pay for his misdeeds. That is for sure. Pathetic to see some comments giving the timeline after 2014 for all these misdeeds. Such swindling was seen in all Government quarters and ministries before 2014 !! All know, why the change came about in 2014.At least now we don't have Brokers and arms dealers in our defence procurement and many other prominent requirements. We have made a start at least to avoid middle men. .

    the art of fekuism, cheating and fraud which was limited to gujjuland before 2014 is spread across the country..a community like catholics are also involved as the great leaders leading the country have shown that even thousands of crores of fraud cannot do anything and you can aram se live in overseas countries without the fear of getting arrested.....isi kushi mein andh bhakton...taaliyan bajao aur balli ki bajji khao

    Kuju baiyya, every community does criminal activities. You cannot say only particular community does. Few days a mother and her two friends or relatives were caught for pressurizing her own daughter into sexual activities there after illegal passport activities and one more. See, only very few incidents are brought to the notice of the police/media....Many are solved quietly. In propery dispute ours is the upper hand. Girls married/unmarried looting the parents is highest....

    No cheating/looting is in the genes Kuju bhaiyya. Before 2014 and after 2014 cannot be taken into consideration. I know one Christian guy forged the signature of his father with the help of another neighbor guy and transferred the property in his name in the DC office itself. Later, father was taken to the court and proved that he is alive....Bribed money and news didnt publish. Everyone's blood is same. Dont think Our community have saint people and others are fake. Peaceful only in front. Jealousy/enemity/revenge/not talking to each other is highest inspite of preaching in the church.

    Why would the manager doubt a perfectly executed document with a lawyer certifying the same! There seems to be a well organised gang of lawyers, impersonators, signicature duplicators, and miscellaneous people involved in this mostly of unattended NRI properties unattended for long and no overseer; many such cases are being reported nowadays!!
