UAE: Mangalorean Senora D'Mello Tops CBSE Class XII Exams

Dubai, May 24: Mangaloreans back home are brilliant in studies, as demonstrated by the recent SSLC and PU results. But Mangaloreans spread abroad too are no less.

17-year-old Senora D'mello, a student of Indian High School Dubai and native of Belman, Udupi, has topped the science stream in class XII CBSE exams, the results of which were announced on May 23.

Senora scored 97.6 percent to emerge second in the entire UAE, overall. Only Akhilesh Mohan of Abu Dhabi Indian High School is ahead of her with 98 percent.

Senora shares the top honours of 97.6 percent in her school with Shwetha Sharma.

Daughter of Raymond and Shanti D'Mello, Senora who is also a black belt in Karate, has always been a brilliant student. She scored 99 in Maths, Chemistry and Engineering Graphics and 95 in Physics and 96 in English.

A jubiliant Senora, speaking to Daijiworld said that she had always expected great result given her hard work, but being among the toppers in the enitire UAE was something amazing and a matter of pride.

"I thank God for his blessings. My parents have been a constant source of support and guidance. I am very grateful to the wishes and prayers of my teachers, relatives, family and friends. Hard work has definitely paid off," says Senora.

Senora plans to pursue Architecture in India.
