Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru Dec 19: An elderly lady was injured after she fell into a gutter near Jyothi's Ambedkar Circle on Monday, December 19 morning.

The locals gathered in huge numbers and rescued the elderly lady who also suffered injuries in the fall. The gutter was opened for cabling purposes more than a month ago near Jyothi Laxmidas Jewellery and the authorities have not bothered to close it. The local public helped the woman out of the gutter.

Even the vehicles are parked on the roadsides in that area due to which the pedestrians are having a tough time walking on the footpath which is dug deep.

The locals who helped the elderly said, "A husband and wife were walking towards Jyothi when they saw an elderly woman falling into a 7-feet pit. They alerted te people around. We were able to rescue her but she suffered a few injuries due to the incident. She fell upside down but fortunately she did not twist her neck.

Locals also showed their anger towards smart city issues.

A resident also said, "If we notice, in the whole of Mangaluru, roads have been excavated for repair works, Gail gas connection, water connection but its not restored properly. The Yeyyadi to Maryhill road was dug open six months ago, They have not been restored yet. The people in Mangaluru are facing a lot of difficulties due to excavation of the road including danger to pedestrians.

Today, an elderly lady was injured due to the open gutter. There are many such death traps formed by the unfinished work of the authorities putting the hapless pedestrians in peril.

When I came to know that new DC has taken charge, every one in city thought that he will do th best to public. But No No nothing change after left our Former DC, it is still worst. DC must take action against the MCC Commissioner, should have suspended immediately. It is the duty of the corporater also. He should have check his ward daily. Otherwise give resignation. Suppose if any ministers or Representatives family members have fallen like that what steps they would have take.? Mostly these Administrators are only to enjoy Government salaries and perks that what I believe. Now also DC can suspend MCC Commissioner, so the next public servant will be more alert.

"These Incident proves " Our Country is a Third world Country". Actually, some people are worth third-class mentality! Country is leading but some activists and factions are stuck to medieval ideology and practices, they poke their nose in administrative affairs of government on the pretext of Hindutva and Khathra phobia.

Anyhow we are on the way to become number one tourist destination of the world with open gutters and meter deep potholes." And our culture protectors are still dwelling in primitive times. They are going against Christmas & New Year celebrations, siting wrongful reasons. They have forgotten that India is a leading country in rape culture involving teens, children and not sparing old ladies. How such people allow foreign tourists to visit to our Districts and have freedom of their choice. These Gundas may follow even touridts movements too and attack them.

Many young and elderly people have become prey of such incidents due to digging of roads and lanes and broken their limbs. For such damages better to sue the concerned authorities and fine them for their negligence attitudes. They care more about spending crores of rupees allotted for smart city works rather than caring about the aged people.

I have one doubt here .Did they dug really for cables to put ?And where are they since some months?Or nearby jewellary shop to inspect?Clear the issue .why did the firm who dug there should have closed it from above to avoid anyone falling inside or boundry should have put?Now file case against them .And MCC should file case against them and pay cost of the ladies medical bill.Simply dont leave them so.

During Election time people will still support these corrupt MLA and MP . we really need some educated representatives for our constituency. Why do we need to put up Banner thanking MLA when a road is built ? Isn't it from the taxpayers money ? Why do we need to thank an MLA when some funds are released ? Isn't it from the taxpayers money ? The objective of the Elected Representatives is to serve the people . Its their duty. They get hefty salary for their job.

Crores have been spent on concreting the roads. A day after the works are complete drilling tractors, machines, excavating machines are all ready to start digging. Lay cables, OFC, Gail works etc. Whole system starting with MCC, PWD are out of thrir senses! This has become a perennial senseless joke. All these are cartels, hand in glove. Whose father's money anyways.?? Ridiculous. Think the PMO and PM Modi should be tagged with these ridiculous digging photos after completion of concretizing of every road. Or else think this will go on forever.
