Mangaluru: Walter Nandalike sparks inspiration in students at YIASCM’s media club inauguration

Mangaluru, Dec 20: The media club of Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management (YIASCM), was inaugurated on Monday December 19.

The event was convened by Dr Arun K Bhagawath, dean and principal of YIASCM. The programme was coordinated by Jamuna K M, assistant professor, department of computer science.

The chief guest of the event was Walter D’Souza Nandalike, founder and managing director of Daijiworld media. Nearly 150 students from various departments attended the programme. The event was headlined by prayers to invoke blessings, followed by a warm welcome speech by Salmanul Faris, president of the YIASCM media club. This was followed by the logo launch, revealing the innovative symbol of recognition ‘Yhite Media Club’.

The principal took over the function and presented the inaugural address. In his address, the principal glossed over the importance of media, its influence in university settings and the role it plays in the YIASCM environment.

Followed by this, Walter Nandalike enlightened the gathering with his inspiring yet powerful words on the power of media and his personal achievements that lead to the formation of the renowned media house ‘Daijiworld’. He presented the office bearers in the installation ceremony and inducted them to their respective posts.

To highlight the achievements of the club, a short certificate distribution was done to honour the hardwork and efforts of the logo design competitors. As a token of gratitude, a memento was presented to the chief guest by the principal.

The faculty coordinator, Jamuna shared a message for the future endeavours and projects of the club. Wishes for the newly installed media club was heartfully conveyed by the president of the student council, Shama Tabassum. The event concluded with the vote of thanks.
