Udupi, May 24: Kiran Manjanbail, district reporter of Samyukta Karnataka, Kannada daily was elected as new president of Udupi District Working Journalists' Association for the term 2011 – 14. Jayakar Suvarna, reporter of DD News was elected as the vice-president. Information and Broadcasting officer M Junjanna was the electioneering officer and also announced the results.

Udayavani, Kannada daily photojournalist Astro Mohan, Samyukta Karnataka Karkala reporter Mohammed Sharief, Vartabharati, Kannada daily Kundapura reporter Vinay Pais (vice presidents), Udayavani Kundapura reporter Dr Sudhakar Nambiar (joint secretary), Udaya TV Udupi reporter Ganesh Amin (sports secretary), Sanjevani, Kannada mid-day paper Udupi reporter Umesh Marpalli (treasurer).Udayavani assistant editor Ganeshprasad Pandelu, Samyukta Karnataka Kaup reporter Suresh Yermal, Udayavani Udupi reporter Chethan Padubidri, Gulf Kannadiga reporter Jayaprakash Kini, Namma TV Udupi reporter Rajesh Shetty, Kundaprabha, Kannada weekly reporter S M Mazhar Kundapura, Jana Pratinidhi, Kundapura published Kannada weekly editor Subramanya Padukone elected as members of governing council.

Prajavani Kundapura reporter K C Rajesh was elected as district representative of state Journalists’ Association and Indian Express Udupi reporter Dinesh Kini was elected as representative of National Journalists' Association.

Treasurer Rajesh Shetty presented the annual accounts.
