Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JS/EP)

Udupi, Dec 22: The Parkala road works began on Thursday, December 22 as per directions from MLA K Raghupathi Bhat to connect Manipal and Udupi as Parkala – Manipal NH four lane works are in progress.

The road was damaged due to increased traffic density as the four lane work on NH 160A is in progress.

The MLA held a meeting with the department officials at the deputy commissioner’s office on December 21 directing the officials to take up repair works of the Kelaparkala road till the national highway works are completed.

God alone knows when the stretch of Balaji Layout Kannarpady after St.Marys English Medium High School will see the light of concrete or Black top road. I am residing since 20 years and paying the taxes religiously but still nothing has been done by Congress or BJP govt. Shamelessly taking tax and keeping their eyes closed. Every time the decide to do the road it starts from the Entrance of Jayadurga temple and ends before St.Marys school and the lame excuse being given is fund is exhausted. As per rumours the contractor claims the bill for even the roads not done and gets payment with the blessings of the elected MLAs. As some one rightly said above, this govt only caters to upper caste community.

I always maintain ..with a sense of neutral judgement..This govt has done a good job in building road infrastructure. The Kadri park facelift is amazing. There are many other loopholes which needs to be plugged to get better or match other countries. Eg ..traffic signs ..and strict driving rules and regulations. They need to invest maintenance of infrasructure on an ongoing basis.

While road widening work is going on in patches, the Hebri - Manipal of stretch of the National Highway is full of dangerous potholes, even surpassing that of Mumbai Municipal Roads! The road is already dangerous because of too many twists & turns, up & down & the width is hardly enough to for 2 vehicles crossing each other!
