Beltangady, Dec 25: A crib has been erected by Hindus, Christians and Muslims together at Madanthyar to spread the message of communal harmony and what is termed as Souharda Christmas.
Local youths namely Praveen Poojary, Santhosh Hegde, Somaiah, Sagar, Asif, Suresh, Shivaraja Acharya, Arun, Guru and Sujit have built a beautiful crib together which is attracting the attention of many.
The youths have used living cattle, sheep, rabbits and pigeons in the crib that is attracting attention.
Praveen Poojary said,"We have grown amidst harmony since childhood and we have engaged ourselves in building a crib during the Christmas festival. We wanted to build one crib for the last few years that symbolises communal harmony but it had not been possible. But this year, we have got an opportunity to build one at Madanthyar. We wish to continue this every year."
