Mangaluru, December 25: "It's unfortunate that Jaleel has been murdered.  The police will take suitable action. The probe is in progress. As per eye witnesses two people have murdered Jaleel. We have faith that they will be caught and will be interrogated to find the motive behind the murder," said chief minister Basavaraj Bommai here on Sunday, December 25,

Speaking to media persons at the Mangaluru International Airport on his way to Moodabidiri, he urged the people not to listen to rumours and disrupt peace and harmony, and affect law and order. "Leave the matter to the police. They will independently probe into matter. Action will be taken against the culprit."

Replying to the allegations of the opposition that the untoward incident was due to CM's comment of "action-reaction" on the murder of Jaleel in Surathkal.

"Whoever starts violence in society, Isn't it our duty to curb them," asked the CM.

"It is the society's duty as well as that of the government. We cannot ignore those who do wrong. There is no question of just action and reaction," he justified.

"If we speak of other things leaving out the reason behind the murder, then we will miss out on the actual reason behind the murder. Leave the probe to the police. The truth will be revealed", Bommai said.
