Mangaluru: District administration issues guidelines for New Year celebration

Mangaluru, Dec 27: The district administration of Dakshina Kannada and city police department jointly issued a statement under the presidentship of deputy commissioner Ravikumar on Monday December 26 giving guidelines for New Year celebration to protect law and order.

Registered clubs, pubs, hotels and restaurants are allowed to function only till 12.30 am on December 31. Loudspeakers will not be allowed after 10 pm as per Supreme Court directive. Owners of pub, hotels, clubs, malls and restaurants have to take prior permission from police department. All events organized should be finished on time and rules should not be violated.

The organizers should take prior permission from local administration and police department to conduct special parties and programmes.

There are no restrictions for religious functions. The organizers of religious programmes have to follow the guidelines.

Covid protocols should be strictly followed. Homestays, pubs and clubs that have permission from excise department should ensure that illegal activities do not take place. If any illegal activities are found, the owners are responsible.

The district administration has requested public to report any suspicious persons or activity noticed to the nearest police station, excise or tourism department. The police force will be deployed at grounds to maintain law and order. Three teams of environment pollution control board, panchayat raj and excise department are formed for patrolling.

Owners of all hotels, service apartments and pubs are called for meeting and guidelines are conveyed under the leadership of Mangaluru City Corporation commissioner.

    these curbs indicate that land of monkeys is the only district in Karnataka where there is no harmony and coexistence among the public..these restrictions are never imposed in bengaluru where late night parties are allowed to take place...so hope the mangas will know now where the manga land stands..
