Mangaluru Dec 27: President of World Konkani Centre Nandagopal Shenoy inaugurated the 37th Expert Day celebration of Expert PU College, Kodialbail on Tuesday, December 27.
Speaking on the occasion, Nandagopal Shenoy said, "Apart from academics, soft skills need to be imparted. In the World Konkani Centre, we distribute scholarships to the tune of Rs 3.5 crore. We have a strong network of alumni where they will mentor the present scholars. In the last 12 years, we have given Rs 30 crore worth of scholarships for Konkani linguistic students. Through Kshamatha soft skills training the placement rate achieved is 93%. Students need to take care of the purpose of education as learning is a continuous process in life where one can invent, discover from small things. Do not compromise on core ethical values. Once you lose ethical values you can’t get them back."
Chairman of Expert Institutions Prof Narendra L Nayak said, "The students here need to be inspired by their seniors who were honoured and ensure that next year you are honoured. That should be your determination."
Vice chairperson of Expert Institutions, Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak spoke about the history of Expert College and said, "Expert is the story of people who struggled. Due to word of mouth the Expert Institutions gained popularity. In the year 2007, Kodialbail campus and in 2014 Valachil campus were started. Despite all the hurdles we bounced back strongly."
Meanwhile, rank holders of the last three years were honoured. Principal of Expert PU College, Kodialbail, Prof Ramachandra Bhat presented the annual report of the college.
Director of IT, Expert Group of Institutions Ankush Nayak and architect Deepika Nayak were also present.
HoD of Math, Pruthvi D'Souza welcomed the gathering, Arjun and Sharanya Yellur compered the event.
