Hebri: Drunk school teacher's services placed under suspension

Hebri, Dec 29: A school teacher who was found drunk and sleeping in the school premises has been placed under suspension due to public outcry against him. Ganapthi K, DDPI suspended Krishnamurthy Nayak with immediate effect.

Krishnamurthy, a school teacher at Alangaaru Government Primary School under the Perduru GP had on December 27 come drunk to the school in the morning and was found sleeping in the school premises.

Parents of the school children filed a complaint against the teacher with the panchayat, it is learnt.

It is also learnt that Krishnamurthy used to come drunk to school in the past and was warned by the officials of the education department but to no avail. A video of the teacher sleeping in the school has gone viral.

Parents of the children expressed apprehension about the teacher's ways who they think should be a role model for the students. The parents and the public had submitted a request to the Grama Panchayat and the education department seeking his suspension.

Krishnamurthy's service has been placed under suspension and investigations are on.
