Mangaluru: Mortal remains of security guard found in storm water drain

Mangaluru, Dec 30: The mortal remains of a man who was working as a security guard in a private hospital at Ullal were found in a storm water drain at Kuthar junction on Friday, December 30 in the morning.

The deceased was a resident of Kumble Ganesh Shetty (45). He used to work under a private security agency. He did not attend work on December 27 and was found dead at Kuthar junction this morning.

He used to stay with his wife and his child at Belma, Deralakatte. His wife used to work as a cooking help at a government school. She had also been working as a cook at a private hotel at Deralakatte in the evenings.

The deceased Ganesh Shetty was an alcohol addict. It is suspected that an unidentified vehicle knocked him down following which he fell and died in the drain. As he had injuries on his head, an accident case was registered at Mangaluru south traffic police station in this connection. Investigations are in progress.
