Haryana Sports Minister faces allegations of rape attempt

Chandigarh, Dec 31 (IANS): Chandigarh Police on Saturday said they are investigating allegations of rape attempt levelled by an athletics coach against Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh, a former Olympian.

Former captain of the Indian national hockey team, Sandeep Singh has rubbished the charges as "politically motivated".

The woman, who participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics, was recruited as a junior coach in the Sports Department in September.

In her complaint, she alleged Sandeep Singh sent her messages on Instagram and Snapchat.

"On July 1, he made a Snapchat call and asked me to visit his residence in Sector 7, Chandigarh, for verification of documents. Around 6.50 p.m, he called me to his office and molested me. My T-shirt was torn. I managed to push him aside and ran out of the room as the door was unlocked," she alleged.

Chandigarh Police spokesperson Ram Gopal said, "We have received the complaint and sent it to the Sector 26 police station."

    Despite Cheddi Down performance of many BJP MLA's in Karnataka nothing happened !!! Even with Video/TV broadcast evidence nothing happened. Some performers even went to HC asking for a "block" on release of their performance video's. Almost 20 ...Moral of the story : If you have government in your pocket, you can't touch an MP/MLA. You need government permission to prosecute them. But, when government survival itself depends on them, government won't give permission for their prosecution which itself may lead to collapse of government. Strange but true.

    as far as he is blue j pigs party..no harm will be done to him and the woman will be termed as that of lose character or may be rubbished as attempt to tarnish the image of the minister....anyway sanskari party will take care of the asaraam duplicate

    BJ pee is a washing machine. He will come out clean. Rape is the only 'Vikas' and it is 'happening'.
