Oppn should work in a coordinated manner for 2024: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Dec 31 (IANS): Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that the opposition should coordinate properly in order to fight against the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Addressing a press conference here, he said: "The sense I am getting is that if the opposition comes together and fight in coordinated way, the BJP will find it tough in 2024. I think the opposition should stand effectively on ground and work in a manner to counter the BJP."

When asked about a Prime Ministerial face, the Congress leader said: "My main focus right now is for a united India, we should fight against hatred. My focus is only to unite India."

He further said that there were many like-minded parties who want India to be in harmony. "I know Akhikeshji and Mayawatiji want India to be free of hatred and want harmony in the country."

Rahul Gandhi also said that "his is not a tactical political fight the BJP has dominated the political space and to defeat them now there should be ideological framework and this only Congress can give".

"For example the Samajwadi Party has position in Uttar Pradesh but its idea will not work in Kerala and Karnataka. Only the Congress can give a national vision while respecting the opposition leaders," he added.

"I want them (BJP and RSS) to attack us aggressively, this will help the Congress party understand the ideology. In a way I consider them my guru, they are showing me the way, training me on what not to do."

Regarding his Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said that the foundation of the mega-walkathon is love, affection and to erase hatred in the nation.

The yatra will resume on January 3 and enter Uttar Pradesh after which it will proceed to Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

    For such an elaborated description from a person whose achievement is Zero. RaGa needs to accept only one challenge- let him again fight the upcoming election from Amethi- his own turf & win against Mrs. Smriti Irani. Talking about democratic rights fight, better not to open the pandora's box, already the pillars of the party have walked out or expired.

So its obvious which side you support. A few days later you and your family members sport a big 'never seen before' Tilak on your foreheads . So unless your are not sure of yourself. No one would be sure to vote.

    So, we have Nitish ji, Mamta di, , Kejriwal, KRS, contending for the PM post. Of course yourself as well. None of these have presence out of their State Corporation Limits. Some can only win in safe Muslim constituency , thousands of miles away from their homes. How can you counter the BJP with these 'strengths' like this.

    It shows that he himself has no confidence that congress can fight alone. He (Rahul) is one to be blamed to make congress such a weak party. His loose statements and having no clarity on what he speaks made people to lose confidence on the party.

    His loose statements??? At least he has the guts to face the media unlike our so called PM. Forget about Rahul. India is divided into religions and that is the advantage for BJP. BJP will try every hook and crook way to get power. Best Example is Karnataka where it bought Ramesh Jarkiholi the corrupt and blue film hero.
