Mangaluru: Youth goes missing in sea at lighthouse beach

Mangaluru, Jan 1: A youth who went to swim in the sea with his friend got entangled in water current and went missing at LightHouse beach near Surathkal on Saturday afternoon.

The missing youth is identified as Satyam (18), a native of Bihar and resident of Kana. He had gone to the beach along with his friend Prabhakaran. Both were drawn into the current of sea water. While Prabhakaran managed to swim to safety, Satyam was drawn into the sea. Prabhakaran informed the matter to local people. Local people searched for mortal remains of Satyam till late in the night but could not find the same.

Satyam was studying for a diploma in KPT in the city and is said to be the eldest among two children of his parents.

    When people go to swimm where it is not known if danger or not knowing good swimmimg .kindly wear swimm dress or warn west.That might save your life or life guards can make out where you are and swiftly help them.Dont be self sure saying I can.Water is a element that can play a lot tricks.Hope someone finds him .

    RIP Our beaches are steep with treacherous undercurrents locals never go swimming poor tourists no warnings.

    Even with warnings, people don't listen. The waters are very treacherous. People think they are expert swimmers. Even the most expert swimmers die in these waters.
