Udupi: Cheque bounce case – Man sentenced to six months of imprisonmentt

Udupi, Jan 1: An accused in two separate cases was sentenced to six months of jail by the chief civil judge and JMFC court of the city.

The case was filed against convict Harishchandra by Kamalakar N Mendon of cheque bounce. The court which heard arguments and counter arguments found the accused as guilty and sentenced him to six months of imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000.

In addition, the court also asked convict Harishchandra to return the amount of the cheques that were dishonoured to Kamalakar.

Kukkehalli Shivaprasad Hegde, Idya Balasubramanya Rao, Anupama Kumari and Pangala Jayakar Bangera argued in favour of Kamalakar.
