Bengaluru, Jan 2: Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has exuded confidence of ruling BJP retaining power in the next assembly polls in the state based on its performance and governance record.

Talking to reporters after visiting a temple in Bengaluru on Monday, January 2, he said the Vaikumnta Ekadashi is the most sacred day in the Hindu religion and it has been the practice to have the darshan of Lord Venkateshwara.

As it is not possible to go to Tirupati, he came to visit Vyalikaval Venkateswara Temple of TTD and prayed for the welfare of the people.

“There will be a blessing from Lord Venkateswara in the current year. Venkateswara means development and prosperity. The state of Karnataka will witness unprecedented development in the New Year,” he said.

Asked about Pradeep, an industrialist who committed suicide by making Mahadevapura BJP MLA Arvind Limbavali responsible for the extreme action, the chief minister said FIR has been filed.

“Law will take its course and investigation will take place,’’ he said.

On the health conditions of the Siddeshwara seer, Bommai said the seer identified him but was unable to talk. Apart from this, all his body parameters are functioning normally. He recognised the voice of prime minister Narendra Modi who had called to enquire about his health condition.

“I am in regular touch with the concerned and getting the health updates regularly. No need for becoming panic. The seer has a special inner power with which we will win over the ill health and will remain with us for a long time,’’ Bommai said.

The chief minister later launched the Booth Vijaya campaign of the ruling BJP in the State from Shivajinagar assembly constituency and urged partymen at all levels to work unitedly for the success of BJP in the coming elections.

“BJP will win 130 seats out of the 224 assembly constituencies. The victory could be even bigger,’’ he predicted.

Bommai said the people have rejected the opposition Congress and the party is fighting for its survival. There is little doubt about BJP victory, he said.

Visiting temples will not inrease winning chances. First love all communities equally, provide justice to all without any religious bias, be sympathetic to those who are killed on political motives but condolences are offered to only of your favorite and cash compensation to only your brothers. Kahan ka Insaf saheb ? Upervale ko bi sub patha hai.
