Mangalore, May 28: In a bizarre incident a person named Rudraiah hailing from Harogoppa of Shikaripura taluk, currently working as tiles fixer in Kavoor here jumped into a well near Kadri on Saturday May 28. Timely rescue, by the locals after an autorickshaw driver who witnessed the jump informed them, saved his life. The well was rich in water.

However, the matter turned curious when the reason for the ‘extreme’ step was revealed by Rudraiah. He, a BJP activist, was asked to shout slogan against Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in exchange for Rs 100 by Congress supporters, as claimed by him. As he was under influence of alcohol, he did so too.

But to his bad luck, a few BJP men shot him hurling abuses at the CM using a video camera and also informed his family in his native of his habit of consuming alcohol. Frustrated Rudraiah, who was by now scared of his family, BJP men and police on Saturday May 28 around 1.00 pm jumped into well.

The matter was soon brought to the notice of Kadri police and he has been taken into custody.

    Mr Arun/mangalore,

Lets first of all put our own house in order and once its done lets move on to neighbours and others. Why are you worried about international happenings. India is our country and we must be worried about our own country as to whats happening. Tell your friends in the internatinal arena, not to do injustice and dictate on innocent. Try to find out the root cause of terrorism and you shall have answer. Lets treat the causes and not the symptoms/end results...

    Mr. Kukkikatte,

Whole India is de-stabilised by KDF, SIMI, etc. not by BD. Prime danger is Green terror to our beautifual nation. Flush them out first, then only our Country will florish.

    Praveen/Mangalore,

I can equate this person only with the activists of BD and absolutely there is no difference between them as both are sold for money and ready to do any henious act without knowing actually what they are doing. By supporting these evil acts, do you want to become one amongst them... I have no issues and you are free to do as we are a democratic country...

Praveen Mangalore, read the comment properly before you reply. I did not claim that BD is behind this incident but they also do similar things as this. This man has drunk no doubt and he has a right excuse because he is a drunkard. "Alcoholic" is a sickness and people who are alcoholic does these acts which are harming themselves without having sense, but if a non alcoholic man does similar acts which is harming others and the civilized society how worse that will be and how do you rate those acts according to the democratic values??? In technology we are heading to the space and in human rights we are heading to Sudan in the full view of the whole world!!! Will we celebrate glory or hide our faces in shame???

@shahnawaz kukkikatte, dubai/udupi please dont sit in dubai and comment whatever you like, this person might be right or wrong, but you cannot come to the conclusion that there is a hand of BD in this matter. By looking into this person he seems to a regular drunkard and will say whatever rubbish comes from his mouth.

@Canute, Mangalore/Dubai same thing applies to you.

BD are used similar way and there is no doubt about it. Most of the BD workers are uneducated or not well educate and they are less excess to go to abroad to work or settle down. Most of the BD activists do not know that there is a great Hindu population live in other nations as minority and need the same religious harmony for their feature and security. BD activists are jealous of neighbor’s prosperity and on this basis they can be easily brain washed by political leaders showing a vision of "save Indian culture!” But the question is: is violence, destruction and killing an Indian culture? What does it mean than “Om Shanti”????

    Dear Mr Arun/Dubai,

No good person would join BD. You know they dont have any agenda.. All those who have participated in creating terror are hired goons and drunkers like above.. BD wants only terror and law and order situation.... They are mislead and misguided by the political leaders. Except for their leadership, all its members are temporary one and only opprotunists like who sell themselves to liquor, money or just take pleasure in harrasing girls in the name of protection.....Very sad indeed.

Dear Arun, Shahnawaz’s comments may not be realistic here but most of the times we have seen such things by BD. Furthermore, this incident is of no importance at all when compared to the children orphanage attack done by BD.

The so-called ``Congressmen" who caused a poor man with a habit drinking to shout anti-Yeddy slogans and taking his pictures are stupid. If they really want to do something, they should protest against all MLAs who got elected on Congress ticket and joined BJP for ``development" under Operation Kamala. The Congress leaders are helping Yeddy by their infighting, lack of unity. Why make fun of a poor man, who likes to drink? Imagine insulting, abusing a person by offering a meagre Rs 100 when Crores of Rupees are swindled and looted by all political leaders of all parties!
