Mangaluru, Jan 3: The Panambur sea shore in city, one of the important sea beaches of the country, where a record number of national and international visitors visit, is going to get developed in line with beaches in Goa.
Panambur beach had lost its lustre due to Taukte cyclone, sea erosion and Covid pandemic. The district administration has called for tenders in order to encourage beach tourism in the coastal region. The tender has been obtained by Bhandary Builders of the city. The contract is received by the company through their sister concern LRS beach tourism for 10 years. District administration will earn a revenue of Rs 1.20 crore annually after the development.
District administration has given 15.5 acre land to the company that has got the contract. International standard food court will be built on the land. In addition, beach villas, veg and non-veg restaurants will also be built similar to those in beaches of Goa. The beach facility will be given to the public for huge conventions, weddings, night and day parties.
Watersports are getting more emphasis in the development of the beach. Waterboat ride, Speed boating, Jetski, Banana Ride, Bumper ride and traditional boat rides will be available. Parasailing will also be introduced. LRS will develop the beach in such a way that the traditional style of the coastal region will not get affected. A well-equipped auto rickshaw park and special weekend programmes will also be organized.
