Vijayapura, Jan 3: The last rites of Siddeshwara Swamiji of Sri Jnanayogashrama here who passed away here yesterday were held on Tuesday, Januray 3 in the Ashram premises as per the wishes of the seer with state honours.
His mortal remains were carried in a procession from the Sainik School of Vijayapura after completion of final respects.
The mortal remains were kept on the podium prepared in the Ashrama premises and the final rites were led by several heads of maths.
The rites were kept simple as per the desire of the seer. Suttur Kanheri Basavalinga Shri started the fire on the pyre. Several heads of maths, chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, various union ministers and Karnataka state ministers, MLAs and a large number of devotees offered their tributes to the departed seer.
