Jeddah: Mohammed Mansoor New President of Karnataka NRI Forum

Jeddah, May 29: The general body meeting of KNRI Forum Jeddah was held at the banquet hall of Seasons Hotel Jeddah where several dozens of KNRI Forum members and guests gathered to witness a colourful evening programme.

"Karnataka NRI Forum is a family and we are all its members. The Kannada community of Jeddah has selected us as its representative and each of us has the great responsibility of fulfiling the community's needs," said Mohammed Mansoor who has been elected new president of KNRI Forum Jeddah for the period of 2011 -2012. He thanked each and every member for showing confidence in him to lead this lone NGO which represents people from Karnataka state in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

Vice-presidents J Parameshwarappa and Shrikanth launched the newly designed website of KNRI Forum Jeddah (www.knriforumjeddah.com) and requested everybody to visit to this website to know more about the forum.

Earlier in the programme, outgoing president B K Shetty thanked the members for supporting him in his three-year stint as president of the forum and requested the members to support the new team, which will have greater challenges to face in KSA as well back home in Karnataka.

The meeting started with pleasant Kannada song with Karaoke music by known singer Mohammed Kaleem. General secretary Mohammed Mansoor presented the annual report for the year 2010 – 2011 along with a power point presentation on the activities and achievements of the forum. Treasurer S M Jafer presented the financial statement which was audited by M/S R K Kumar and Associates, chartered accountants, Bangalore, for the period of 2010 – 2011.

The guests and members enjoyed the appetizing dinner along with an entertaining musical programme which was held after the meeting, where famous singer of Jeddah Mohammed Sami and his team regaled the gathering with their beautiful rendition of Kannada and Hindi songs.

Shrikanth proposed the vote of thanks and the entire programme was managed and moderated by Niaz Ahmed.
