Kasargod, Jan 12: The driver of a compressor tractor died after he lost control, and the vehicle veered and toppled on the road.
The accident occurred near Kattadamane bridge on Paivalike – Chevar road on January 11 afternoon.
The deceased is identified as Suresh Pon (28), a resident of Runkanv, Nepal.
Vaspati Tapa, another resident of Nepal who was with him was injured and has been admitted to a hospital.
Suresh, who was stuck under the tractor after it toppled, was pulled out by the local people and admitted to a hospital in Bandiyod. He was later shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru as he had suffered critical injuries. But he died without responding to treatment.
It is said that Suresh had joined work just two days ago.
Manjeshwar station police have registered a case.
