Belgaum: Five Charred to Death in Major Fire Mishap

Belgaum, Jun 2 (PTI): Five persons, including a couple, were charred to death in a fire occurred at a three-storey building at Athani, about 130km away from Belgaum.

Police said the fire, that broke out in the ground floor, which housed the textile showroom, spread to other floors where the owner, his wife and three workers were residing.

Fire tenders put out the fire, police said.

Those dead are identified as Mruthyunjaya D Hiremath, his wife Lakshmi, Chennabasavaiah, Girish and Ajit.

    What a tragedy people burning to death, how horrible. Its better to build a deep swimming pool near the building, so that people can run to the top and dive into it when there is a fire. May the departed soul's rest in peace.
