Mangaluru, Jan 29: Provincial secretary of VHP Sharan Pumpwell gave a controversial statement in the wake of the Gujarat massacre documentary released by BBC.

Sharan Pumpwell compared the Gujarat massacre to the bravery of Hindus and said, “We have killed 2,000 people as revenge to the murder of 59 kar sevaks.”

The statement of Sharan Pumpwell is beng heavily trolled. Pumpwell gave this statement at the Shaurya Yathre of Bajrang Dal that was held at Tumakuru.

Sharan said, “Gujarat massacre is the bravery of Hindus. It shows that Hindus are not eunuchs. Hindu society is not a society of eunuchs. We have shown our capability to the world."

He said, “Remember the Gujarat incident once. When 59 kar sevaks were returning from Ayodhya, their compartments were burnt. Also remember the answer given by the people of Gujarat."

Sharan said, “None of the Hindus sat at home with their hands tied. They all got down to the streets. They entered each house-59 karsevaks were killed but the count of the number of people who were massacred in the backlash is still not available. It is estimated that around 2000 people were killed. This is the bravery of Hindus.”

Responding to the statement of Siddaramaiah that all districts of Karnataka will become Hindutva factories, Sharan said, “If necessary we will get into fights. We are ready even to barge in and attack. Siddaramaiah arrives at our land of Mangaluru and says that Dakshina Kannada district has become Hindutva factory. Remember Siddaramaiah, not only Dakshina Kannada but Tumakuru district will also become factory of Hindutva in the coming days. We have inspired Tumakuru through the Shourya Yathra of Bajrang Dal. In the coming days all districts of Karnataka will turn into Hindutva factories.”
