Mangaluru, Jan 29: Vishwa Hindu Parishad's youth wing Bajrang Dal held a 'Shaurya Yatra' (Gallantry March) on Sunday, January 29, in memory of the demolition of Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992. The Bajrang Dal youth also celebrated the day as Gallantry Day.
More than thousands of Bajrang Dal activists took part in the Shaurya Yatra wearing the uniform with a saffron flag tied to their lathis. The programme was held on the outskirts of the city at Ullalbail.
The Shaurya Yatra commenced prior to the stage programme. The procession passed through Ullal-Thokottu.
Bajrang Dal national coordinator Neeraj Doneria, VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell and others took part in the programme.
Shaurya Yatra was held in memory of the demolition of Babri Masjid. The programme was held in Congress MLA U T Khader’s constituency. There was tight police vigil to prevent any untoward incident.
Bajrang Dal workers took part in the procession in a disciplined manner.
"Four students who were arrested by the NIA were students of colleges of Ullal, who allegedly has terror sleeper cells. If NIA conducts further investigations they may be find a few more persons involved in the terror act," said Sharan Pumpwell in Ullal.
