Udupi, Jan 31: “Sharan Pumpwell is involved in all the murders starting from Mustafa’s murder at Mysuru jail in 2016. NIA should conduct investigations into them," said SDPI state secretary Afsar Kodlipete.
Speaking at a news conference in Udupi, he said that Sharan Pumpwell has openly welcomed murder in his speech. “What does it mean? Where is the home minister? Who allowed killers to openly speak like this? When the current chief minister Basavaraj Bommai was the home minister he had assured Sharan Pumpwell that all the cases against him will be withdrawn. Sharan Pumpwell should be arrested. We suspect his involvement in all the murders in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada. Why is the case of Pravin Nettaru handed over to the NIA and not the murder of Fazil and Jaleel. Why the discrimination in justice,” he asked.
Speaking about the preparations for elections, he said that the first list of the SDPI was released. “The party will contest for 100 seats in the next elections. Our party will contest in eight seats of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kaup blocks. Six crore people in Karnataka had to bow their heads down in shame and helplessness after BJP, Congress and JDS coalition governments came. A commission of 10% is being demanded for the first time in the Bhadra irrigation project. The prime minister has not replied to the letter from contractor’s association president Kempanna even after six months. Commission business existed earlier too. But 5% commission is being demanded for approval of tender and 40% to pass the bill after BJP came to power."
"BJP could not tolerate a piece of cloth on the head of girls. There is a scarcity of teachers in all the schools and colleges in the state. But that could not be set right. IT BT companies that incurred loss due to lack of basic facilities are heading to Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad. The 14 MLAs who won the elections under Congress were bought at a Mumbai resort like sheep and chicken. People of Udupi should give us an opportunity. We will be bound to repay your debt. We do not depend on casteism or the strength of money. We seek votes on the basis of service to people, he said.
SDPI Udupi district president Shahid Ali, state chief secretary and state election in-charge Appa Kodlipete and Kaup SDPI candidate Hanif Muloor, SDPI state leader Nawaz Ullal and SDPI Ullal district vice president Khaleel Ahmed were present.
