Kasargod, Feb 4: Customs team arrested Mohammed Fahis (34), a resident of Cherkala Citizen Nagar, who had arrived on train to the railway station for possessing 1.3 kilo of gold.
Customs superintendent of Kasargod customs unit P T Rajeev had got a tip off about the gold that is being transported in the train. Accordingly, Rajeev along with three other customs officers, laid a trap and arrested Fahis and recovered gold worth Rs 74 lac.
The gold was being smuggled concealing it inside the motor of a bread roast making machine.
