Udupi: Public prosecutor’s mother goes missing, remained untraced since 3 months

Udupi, Feb 9: Public prosecutor, who has helped numerous suppressed people to get justice, is facing hardship. His loving mother has been reported missing since the last three months and police have failed to trace her.

With teary eyes, Jayaram Shetty, public prosecutor of Udupi district court says, “My loving mother went missing three months ago. Our family members have visited numerous religious places and made vows for her return. However, she is still untraced.”

Police have utterly failed in locating Vanaja Shedti, mother of Jayarama Shetty. Vanaja was living at Varamballi of Brahmavar, in Jayaram Shetty’s younger brother's house. On November 14, 2022, she went missing.

Jayaram Shetty and his brothers looked for their mother everywhere. When their search did not yield any result, they filed a missing complaint at Brahmavar police station. However, so far Vanaja Shedthi has remained untraced. She is suffering from memory loss as well She cannot come back alone either if she goes out.

There is a national highway situated at a stone’s throw away from the house of Jayarama Shetty’s brother. Four roads get divided at the same spot. As CCTV has not been installed in the near vicinity, no clue about the timing or the direction in which Vanaja Shedthi has gone is available on record.

Jayaram Shetty has personally met SP twice and appealed to trace his mother. However, so far no trace of Vanaja Shedthi has been found.

Jayaram Shetty has requested general public to call 8310013257 in case they come across his mother Vanaja Shedthi or about her whereabouts.

    When she has memory loss which is known to the family and if its that much of love why not make her wear a tracking device . Many times technology can help rather than burdening the system or simply depending on God

    Hope Vanaja will soon be found and all will be well. Alzeimer affects many elderly even in big cities. I had a neighbour in Ottawa whose life tragically ended because he just kept on walking into dense bushes and got lost. Hope amd [ray that the Shetty brothers will find their mother soon, safe and sound. God will guide her to safety.

    When such person in house is please keep the door always locked and key in place where she cant reach.I knew a person was getting at night or day simply open the door and go out without telling anyone.Thatswhy it might look odd but very helpful.And in old homes they fix a sensor at the door where a person goes out or come in .That can be also done at home.as a pre indication.you are alerted.Their dress colour etc,they dont .I know how my mother in law was having these symptoms and acting.normally she was not able to walk or sit properly.But once she all of a sudden got up and walked directly as noone was near her to the child .As we asked her why she went there she wanted to see the child if she is sleeping.She was forgetting to go to toilet or where toilet is.Its normal .Only one should have patience with them .We dont know how we will be when the time comes.Or keep a barrier at the door ,so he or she cant cross and jumpover .They dont know to cross .Hope this lady will be found soon.Gone with bus or to relatives ?

    When elder people loose memory ,is difficult to locate when goes missing .Alzheimer disease they say .Thats why is important to have person always with her.Hope and pray she may be found somewhere and come back.Did she wear any gold ornaments?many women all of a sudden they get up and run with no definite point.later dont know to return.She may not gone to religious places.But inquire in any Ashrams or other institutes if a unknown person was brought or found.That may help.
