Bangalore: Govt, COMED-K Sign Agreement Over Sharing of Seats

Bangalore, Jun 9 (PTI) Karnataka Government and Consortium of Medical and Dental Colleges (COMED-K) today signed an agreement over sharing of seats in private professional colleges and on fee structure.

In tune with an agreement inked in presence of Minister for Higher Education V S Acharya between the officials of Medical and Higher Education and representatives of COMED-K, the government will have a quota of 40 per cent seats, colleges 40 per cent, besides 20 per cent for NRIs in medical courses.

Acharya told reporters that while 40 per cent of seats in government quota will have a fee structure of Rs 35,000 per annum, management quota fee is Rs 3.25 lakh.

Private dental colleges have agreed to surrender 35 per cent of seats under government quota, which attract Rs 25,000 annual fee and Rs 2.
