Mumbai, Feb 16: Knowledge of pharmacy integrated with Data Analytics solutions contributes to reducing costs and accelerating growth. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, the future of every field, are also transforming diverse sectors of the pharmaceutical industryfrom drug discovery and development to clinical trials. Albert W D’Souza, chairman of Aldel Education Trust was expressing the above views while addressing the participants at National seminar on 'Data Analytics &AI-ML: opportunities in healthcare' at St John Institute of Pharmacy and Research, Palghar.
The Annual Technical Event 'Symphoria'- A National Symposium was conducted in collaboration with Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA-MSB) and Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India (APTI-MS) on Saturday, February 4 in seminar hall. The seminar focused on use of data analytics and artificial intelligence & machine learning in healthcare sector.
Dr Savita J Tauro, principal, St John Institute of Pharmacy and Research gave the overview of Symphoria and explained the basic Idea of choosing the topic the seminar.
Ashish Babtiwale (director, Navigo Analytics, Mumbai) one of the dignitaries present at the seminar in his key note address, gave detailed information to the students and guests about the Current Scenario of Artificial Intelligence in Indian Pharmaceutical Industry. Dr M Vijayalaxmi (HOD and vice-principal, VESIT, Chembur) spoke about the role of Artificial intelligence in healthcare sector and international progress in the field of Pharmacy. Dr Sachin Deshmukh (director, VES Business School, Chembur) mentioned the use of Data Analytics in the healthcare sector and how dataAnalytics helps in integrating complex data. IndraniKakade, (consultant, Clinical Trials, Data Analytics and Management, Mumbai) explained the role of Artificial Intelligence in Clinical trials and guided the students about the future opportunities in the field of pharmacy.
Technical Bulletin of Symphoria which is compilation of different aspects of DATA ANALYTICS and AI-ML by SJIPR faculty was released by the guests. Faculty and students of St John Institute of Pharmacy as well as various Pharmacy colleges have participated in the seminar. The poster session was held in the second half. Posters were presented by the students of various colleges from Mumbai, Palghar and Nashik. All the eminent speakers of symposium interacted with the students and appreciated their work. The winner of the poster in UG and PG category were announced during the valedictory function. The prizes for poster presentation was given by the hands of Dr Sachin Deshmukh and Indrani Kakade
The vote of thanks was given by Dr Deepak Bharati, HOD. All the student representatives, teaching andnon-teaching staff of St John Institute worked for the success of this seminar. Dr Gopla V Mulgund, principal of St John College of Engineering & Management, Dr Brijbandhu Das, principal of St John College of Humanities and Sciences, Sr Veena Monteiro principal of St John International School, Satheesh Shetty general manager of the campus, vice principal of the College Dr Govind Asne, Abhijeet Puri and all the departmental heads were present in the seminar.
