Udupi, Feb 25: A fisherman died as the country boat capsized due to a huge sea wave at the estuarine entrance few nautical miles away from Hejamadikodi.
The deceased is identified as Padmanabha Suvarna (46), a resident of Hejamadi Kodi. He was on the country boat and left for fishing at around 3 am on February 23 from Hejamadykodi along with Dheeresh Bangera. As their boat reached the estuarine entrance, a huge wave struck the boat and it capsized. Dheeresh managed to swim to the shore.
Padmanabha’s mortal remains were found on Friday at Hejamadi Kodi. A case of unnatural death is registered in Padubidri police station.
