Mangaluru, Feb 26: Temperature is soaring high in twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi day by day. The average temperature is about to touch 35 deg C. Pricking heat is continuing. According to weather experts, the conditions will prevail for some days.
In Mangaluru, the maximum temperature of 34.9 deg C was recorded on Friday. So far the highest for the month of February was 37.5 deg C that was recorded on February 14.
As the heat is rising, contagious diseases are increasing.
Foggy weather is being noticed in Mangaluru city, Surathkal, Hosabettu areas. Morning walkers and vehicle drivers faced difficulty as the visibility was very poor.
According to meteorologists when the season changes from winter to summer, this kind of weather prevails. The temperature is minimum in the mornings with fog and later in the day it will be simmering hot. This weather will continue for next three weeks and summer rain is expected around mid-March.
