Puttur, Feb 26: An accused who was absconding for four years without attending court hearings in spite of being issued summons during the period has been arrested by the Puttur police from Manjeshwara of Kasaragod district.
The accused is identified as Sayyid Jamshir Thanghal alias Jamshir Thanghal, a resident of Yasmin Manzil Hiramgalli Uppala, Manjeshwara Taluk.
It is said that the accused was residing in Andhra Pradesh. Acting on a tip-off that the accused had come to the present address, under the guidance of Puttur police inspector and ASI Chandra, head constables Paramesh and Radhakrishna arrested the accused from Manjeshwara on Saturday, February 25 and produced him before the court.
The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
