Hyderabad, Jun 15 (PTI) Two major ports have been proposed on east and west coasts of the country as part of the Maritime Agenda 2010-20, Union Minister for Shipping G K Vasan said today.

Andhra Pradesh has held discussions with the Shipping Ministry for one of these ports, he said.

The Shipping Secretary has asked for appropriate locations and also asked the state to submit a proposal," Vasan told reporters after attending the 13th Maritime States Development Council Meeting here.

"Two sites have been proposed by AP. The Ministry of Shipping will send technical teams to evaluate the sites and as and when the technical report is submitted, we will proceed further on the matter.
