He also mentioned that during his tenure as MLA in 2017-18, the Congress government allocated Rs 58 crore for a six-lane road from Surathkal junction to the temple in Ganeshpura. However, the work could not begin due to the approaching elections, and the present MLA later canceled the tender.
Although a re-tender was done, the project was restricted to Rs.18 crore, with Rs. 40 crore being diverted to other road works in the constituency. When asked about the potential Congress candidates for Mangaluru North Constituency, Moideen Bawa replied that there were several aspirants, but the party would decide who would be given the ticket.
In a democracy, anyone can aspire for a ticket, but the party makes the final decision. If the party chooses someone, the others will work towards the party's victory, he said.
