Mangaluru, Mar 1: Kulshekar police have recovered a lost trolley bag containing gold ornaments in a moving train.
The bag was found lying by the side of the railway track.
On February 27, Ravindra M Shetty and his wife Shashikala Shetty were aboard a Mangaluru bound train from Mumbai when they lost their trolley bag between Mangaluru and Surathkal. The couple filed a complaint with the city railway police and a case was registered.
A special squad was formed by the Mangaluru Railway police under the leadership of inspector Mohan Kottari. When the special police team conducted a track patrolling exercise the trolley bag was found near the Kulshekar tunnel at the turning near the railway track.
The bag contained 245 grams of gold and diamond ornaments together valued at about Rs 8,57,500. Investigations are on.
The search operation was conducted under the guidance of railway police superintendent Dr Sowmyalatha S K and deputy superintendent Geetha C R by the team, city railway police sources said.
