Udupi, Mar 2: The Manipal police have arrested four accused, including two minors, in connection with a theft that occurred in a house in Udupi between 5 pm on February 18 and 10 am on February 19. The accused allegedly stole items such as earrings weighing 20 grams, a pendant weighing 20 grams, a gold ring weighing four grams, a gold chain weighing eight grams, and a nose ornament weighing two grams, with a total worth of Rs 2,40,000 from the house named Krishna Kripa in Nehru Nagar, Shivalli grama, Udupi.
The police have recovered the stolen gold worth Rs 2,40,000 and confiscated a scooter and a car used for the theft. The accused, identified as Varun (19), Karthik Poojary (19), and two minors, were involved in three cases, including two in Kundapur and one in Manipal, and the police have recovered valuables worth Rs four lacs from them.
The operation was conducted by Additional SP Siddalingappa T K, with team members Dy SP Dinaker K P, police inspector Devaraj T V, Navin Naik PSI, Rukma Naik PSI, Manipal police station staff ASI Gangappa, SI Nagesh Nayaka, ASI Shailesh Kumar, Prasanna C, Imran, and Sukumar Shetty, under the guidance of Udupi SP Akshay M H. A case has been registered at the Manipal police station.
