Bantwal, Mar 3: A revenue department official displayed exemplary humanity by tracing the rightful owner of money found on an ATM with the help of the police department and returning the same to the person who lost the same.
Retired employee of Bantwal taluk office Muktabai had lost the money. Revenue department officer Seetharama is the one who put efforts to return the same to her.
Rs 9,000 cash that was found in the Canara Bank ATM on February 27 was returned to the rightful owner at Bantwal city police station on March 2.
Seetharama, staff of taluk office, had gone to Canara Bank ATM at B C Road on February 27 and found that Rs 9000 was left on the machine by someone. He brought the money and handed over the same to Bantwal police station. Police took help from Canara Bank and traced that the money belonged to Muktabai. She was called to the police station on March 2 and the money was handed over to her.
